The Gwynne Farms subdivision project brought RAWSO crews to Smyrna, Tennessee, to perform a full utility and site work package. Our responsibilities include earthwork, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water, electric communication line conduit, stone base, curbs, and paving. We earned the contract for this project in October 2020, and we expect to complete our scope of work in October 2021.
Because we started working on this project during the harsh winter months, we have to be ready for the possibility that inclement weather will impede our progress. Another challenge will be running 7,329 linear feet of 15” and 12” pipe for the off-site sewer, which will tie into an existing park’s sewer line. However, we will bore and install this pipe under Rock Springs Road and Montgomery Way, with a neighboring school and subdivision nearby, so proper safety practices are essential.
RAWSO crews will excavate a total of 233,000 cubic yards of material on this project. We will also install 5,500 LF of storm pipe with 78 storm structures and 35 sewer manholes. Additionally, we will install about 5,100 LF of water pipes with 12 gate valves, five blow-off valves, and nine fire hydrants.
