Project Details

This mixed-use development in Mt. Juliet includes 192 apartments, 28 townhomes, a two-story commercial building, a courtyard, and a dog park. The biggest challenge for RAWSO was the extensive utility installation we performed on this job. We installed 4,000 feet of 6” perforated underdrain, 1,300 feet each of 8” sewer main and sewer service lines, 1,700 feet of water main, 1,300 feet of 6” roof drain, and many different sizes and styles of storm drain pipe.

Believe it or not, that was just the tip of the iceberg. We also had to install 16’x8’ meter vaults to handle the public water that feeds into this private development, along with 35 water gate valves, three large bioretention ponds, 56 precast storm structures, eight headwalls, and 14 sewer manholes. Complicating things further was the fact that this was a tight job site that also required quite a bit of earthwork, so space was definitely at a premium.

This project involved some back-and-forth conversations regarding design issues with the city, which was a process that Keith McBride did a great job overseeing. Mark Hunter did fantastic work grading the site, and our foreman Tony Strong knocked out the complex utility installation like it was nothing. We started our work on Vintage Station North in June 2019, and we expect to wrap up this project by summer 2020.
